About The CPPP

A Warm Welcome from The CPPP

This year we are pleased to announce the publication of our booklet “Management of Peripheral Joint Problems – A Physiotherapy Perspective – peripheral joint problems encountered in Primary Care”.

Chartered Physiotherapists in Private Practice (CPPP) is an employment group of the Irish Society of Physiotherapists (ISCP). The ISCP is the only association in Ireland recognised by the World Confederation of Physical Therapy (WCPT). Evidence of continuing professional development is now mandatory for all ISCP members with an emphasis on evidence-based practice.

All CPPP members are members of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists. Membership of the Society is granted to graduates of accredited Physiotherapy degree courses who have demonstrated that they are competent practitioners, educated to the highest standards.

The CPPP has nearly 400 members and we aim to provide information on various aspects of Physiotherapy in Private Practice. This is facilitated through our fact sheets on various conditions on the home page. If you are attending a Chartered Physiotherapist for the first time, there is an advice leaflet on the home page on what to expect.

We trust you will find this website useful in accessing your local Chartered Physiotherapist working in private practice in your area. If you click on the “Find a Physio” link on the top of this page, it will show your Chartered Physiotherapists in each county.

This year we are pleased to announce the publication of our booklet “Management of Peripheral Joint Problems – A Physiotherapy Perspective”. This booklet contains eight articles relating to the Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist/Hand, Hip, Knee, Ankle, Foot and Paediatric Feet and have been written by experienced Physiotherapy Clinicians, working in Private Practice and the HSE. The articles are concise, referenced and evidence based, pertaining to the management of peripheral joint problems encountered in Primary Care

The CPPP Members Booklet, which is a directory containing the contact details of all CPPP members.   This is distributed annually to GPs Consultants and Nursing Homes.
